Lancs would have to gamble and try and score quickly risking losing wickets in the morning tomorrow to have a chance of a win. Can't afford to lose against teams that are down at the bottom with you. Just can't trust the weather in helping us get wins during the summer.

Tricky situation for Lancs. It's a cloudy but warmish morning here at Trent Bridge, right now it looks like ideal bowling conditions so it could be tough batting for the first hour. If Lancs do bat on how many do we risk in a chase? The wicket is virtually next to the boundary rope and they've got a few batters who can make nonsense of any total.

Bell gone for 1....important Lancs don't lose this..so need to be careful. Stone off injured so that's a bonus.. |

This is why Hartley is in, his usefulness with the bat. Crofty goes, but a decent knock from him too.

Came in difficult conditions and steadied the ship then up'd the run rate when required. IMHO has looked better than Croft who to be fair is not in the best of form. |

Yep, Alan but fair play to Croft, not in the best form but he hung in there and just missed out on his 50. Also took a couple of painful hits.
5th wicket just gone down for Notts. Lancs have them on the ropes here and I think might be disappointed if they don't win from here now with nearly 50 overs left.

Yeah, I think you guys are right. It seems to happen often enough that as the day goes on, the conditions offer the bowlers less and thats when a decent spinner comes in handy. Maybe early in the season thats not supposed to happen as much, but it has seemed like it in Lancs games so far this season.
