Missed the first two days. I think the team selection has been, disappointingly but predictably, typical of the club culture which was being discussed earlier on the thread (i.e. an expression of the high value the club sets on the importance of hierarchy and seniority).
Obviously, we should win from here but we scored nearly 550 in the reverse fixture and couldn't get them out. Their problem hasn't been lack of resistance in the 4th innings but lack of runs in the first - they haven't obtained a single batting point at Wantage Road. This pitch isn't a road like OT provided so we should have a better chance. The question is whether, once the shine is off the ball, Hartley can take wickets against a side who are not really trying to score.

TBH the player we need on these sort of wickets is Parky..... took 4 yesterday for Durham.
Hartley isnt good enough to bowl sides out on flat wickets.

They couldn't bowl out Northants in the season I think from memory? Not picking Morley was quite bizarre on this wicket.
