With an innings in the bank, I hope we declare tonight if the light holds up. Have about 10 overs at them with a 150+ lead.

Is Kevin Hand the Middlesex commentator? Talks up a poor side like they are Late 70s West Indies and still fancies a win here. Woah there.. Whereas Scott Read goes out of his way to talk up the oppos when Lancs are playin.

Play abandoned for the day so another 9 overs lost. IIRC there will be no additional overs tomorrow just the standard 96. I'd declare overnight and give ourselves the best chance...pity Parky isn't with us...

I had the dubious honour of listening to 3 schoolkids on the commentary this afternoon. Giggling their way through the session while talking about various cakes and other useless mutterings. Read declared that Wells had once more had an excellent season for Lancs (which he hasn't) and none of them knew the weather forecast for tomorrow...it's there job to know these things for God's sake. Thankfully I'll be at OT tomorrow so I don't need to listen to them rambling on about nothing.

I’d bat on to 400; with Bell, Balderson and a few big hits if necessary from Hartley and Bailey we should be capable of getting there quite rapidly.
Two more batting points in the bag, a lead in excess of 200, and still around 80 overs to have a go at them.

Id love to see Moores and notts go down , Beat them next week and there right in it TBH from a personal point of view I'd much prefer Notts to stay up. One of the nearer ground's for me to get to even though it's a 120 mile drive, a top class proper cricket stadium with free upper tier viewing from right behind the bowlers arm and all stand's always open so you can choose to sit wherever you want. Stewards in green blazer's always greet you with a smile unlike some of the high viz mob at OT.

Notts following on at Canterbury, Middlesex might be keen to manufacture a result. Doubt they would risk anything, they would be delighted with 5 for the draw

I agree that we should try and get a 200 lead as quickly as possible and then declare.
M6/M62/M602 is usually a better route from the north on weekdays.

Vilas's last game for Lancs so got to ring the bell. C stand open to give him some not so distant farewell applause but now B closed...
