With Vilas finished and Wood and Salt away for England vs Ireland we are going to be down to the bare bones.
Hurst Lavelle and Morley for the last two games?
If Aspinwall and Blatherwick aren't fit Boyden is the only seamer bar Lamb.

Croft, Lavelle, Hurst, Singh to cover the batting. Morley the only bowling option? Lamb?

ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT? Surely not! Perish such disloyal thoughts and remember that "All is for the best in the best of all possible worlds."

Members forum after play on Wednesday. An opportunity to thank the club management and praise the coaching staff or ask some questions if you think there is room for improvement. We can ask as many questions as we want, the top table will answer in the way they want. With one or two of them if they said tomorrow was Friday I would check my diary first.

Just a thought - probably a ridiculous one - but what about Mr. Anderson playing against Notts?
The Ashes series finished at the end of July, he wasn’t involved in the Hundred or the ODC and, due to his underwhelming international summer, there are doubts as to whether or not he’ll be visiting foreign shores this winter. Come Sunday it will be almost 50 days without cricket, so he won’t be tired, (not from cricketing activities anyway).
He’s still our player, he says he loves playing for Lancashire, and he played for us early season. What’s he doing at the moment, could he not turn out for us again?

Maybe somebody could ask at the forum, why they keep playing 50 year old Jon Fielding in the 2nd XI.

Good call on Anderson, but I doubt it. He was commenting on the BBC website last week during the 50 over game, so he might prefer than against Ireland as well.

Boyden didn't play for the 2nds so I'm assuming he's not fit. Birkman's figures were pretty good for the 2nds, but I guess we'd never go that far down the pecking order. Looks like Lamb unless it's a 'bunsen burner'. Perhaps in preparation, they certainly bowled him a lot in the 2nds.

Not related to this match post but I'm sure a lot of members of this group can relate/agree with this excerpt from the excellent Grumbler's County Cricket Newsletter. I wasn't half way through reading it to my wife and she said - Lancashire! BTW I definitely recommend subscribing to the newsletter, it is always an interesting read for county cricket fans.

Steven Croft played his first game for Lytham on Saturday since 2019. He scored 25, though he was their top-scorer. Don't know whether that was Lytham just trying to get promoted(it didn't work) or Lancs trying to give him some game time in advance of replacing Vilas. Pretty pointless if he does or perhaps it's his turn for a farewell game?

Looking at the weather forecast I'm not sure we will get half a day over the four days altogether!
