This leaves Hurst, Aspinwall, Bell, Hartley, Boyden available to be in the squad for Surrey.

Kent/Lancs team getting battered but Lancs players doing better than Kent's. Like the look of Fonseka, played some quality shots. Joe Chapple(7-4-4-2) completely outbowling Blatherwick. Hadn't realised he was a left-armer.

according to the ECB NV Play cricket site the 2nds match against Yorkshire at Bradford PA is now starting on Tuesday 9th not Monday 8th. Sensible in so far it might allow Lancashire to put out a team including one or two of those watching the rain fall / carrying the drinks today and tomorrow. But they would be needed again on Friday (if not Thursday for travel) by the first team.

The game is now at Headingley which would explain the move to a Tuesday start.

Just noticed only 5 home games and 11 away. Not good for members who like to watch the 2nds, but when did members count.

Jack Carney playing for Kent seconds today.
Kent website: "Second XI Coach, Mark Dekker already has one trialist lined up to play some matches, England Under-19 wicket-keeper Jack Carney, who will have a chance behind the stumps."

Just noticed only 5 home games and 11 away. Not good for members who like to watch the 2nds, but when did members count. It's very lopped sided. I make it 3 friendlies 2 home, 1 away, 9 SEC 4 home 5 away, 10 SEC 2 only home and 8 away (inc double headers).
Small wonder they don't report on the games. I wonder how long 2nd XI cricket will survive. What are they building a new facility at Farrington for, now that the women have their own dressing room at Old Trafford? Which professional teams will use it?

Just noticed only 5 home games and 11 away. Not good for members who like to watch the 2nds, but when did members count. I read that some of the smaller counties were concerned over the expense of 2nd XI cricket... could this be the reason for the inbalance...saving money for the small county teams by giving them home games???
