Every word spot-on Exile. Reading the Cricket Paper today and looking at his average this season, I feel really annoyed at the sort of Neanderthal management that lets someone like that go.

Walking past the pavilion I saw a large display board showing life sized head and shoulder photos of several of the Lancs players. One had had his face cut out and, for a second, I thought it was a photo of Davies and that, as he was leaving, his image was being expunged from the club...
I agree with bringing Lavelle in rather than playing Davies today..

Davies's insipid display at Taunton last week made it inevitable that he would be dropped from the Championship side and we won't see him again. It's our loss, though.

Buttler is still depicted, surely the missing head is the captain?

I would not have picked Davies and wouldn’t pick him for the last two games. I do have sympathy with the pick your best team argument and hope he proves me wrong in the next couple of games if picked.

great idea to play the little narky runt today I would have picked him and I still don't think Balderson should be opening even though he is not out at stumps.
Like lots of things in life cricket selection is much easier with hindsight.

Actually agree that we shouldn’t be opening with Balderson. Still thought he was impressive , both temperament and technique wise this evening. That is the job of professional coaches to see things that we haven’t seen. We don’t often get that at Lancashire so hope they are right.

Good innings today in his final outing for Lancs in the championship. Don't think we would have got over the line without his 44 from 43 balls.

Warwickshire are saying he won't start next season keeping.
If England have given up on sibley and yates carries on as he has does he get in as an opener?
Rhodes is the captain and Hain is their established no.4. Can't see a slot there.
Therefore is he fighting with Lamb to bat at 5 and provide cover for sibley and burgess?
Makes less and less sense.
