Although nothing on website did see the name Davies scoring a century for the Lions on Thursday assume it is our Davies

Davies played in the white ball games for the Lions but not the red ball game, any reason for this? I assume he was selected for both squads, although I may be wrong.

Hairline fracture of finger Sounds like he will be missing the next two championship matches. This was slipped into the middle of the squad announcement for Lord's:
"Alex Davies continues to miss out following a break to his left index finger during the Middlesex Championship match at Lord’s last month. The 24-year-old is due to be reviewed again by the Club’s hand specialist in two weeks’ time."
So touch and go as to even whether he plays at Cheltenham.

I am stunned. Surely it's not just money. So what is it?
First Jordan Clark, now Davies. We are gradually losing a generation which should be the backbone for the next 10 years.

This has come completely out of the blue. Davies hasn't been at his best in T20 but has had an excellent season in the CC. It looks very much as if there has been a falling-out behind the scenes, perhaps related to Davies losing his place at the top of the T20 order. I wouldn't have thought that, after their blunder over Hameed, Lancs could afford to be losing another good top order batsmen.

That's a heavy blow. He is one of our best home grown players. I suppose out of contract. Could it be him wanting to be wicket keeper??

That's a heavy blow. He is one of our best home grown players. I suppose out of contract. Could it be him wanting to be wicket keeper?? That would be understandable. Paul Farbrace's statement pointedly refers to him as "wicket-keeper/batter" and it may be the promise of getting back behind the sticks has lured him. There's never been any explanation as to why Vilas has taken over.
