Hopefully enough play in the next couple of days to take 9 wickets. Take the draw match with Surrey out of the way, stiffen and rejig that batting line up and hope for better weather.

I, we, criticise the club on here for a lot of things, but waiting for play today and watching the Badger & Combes promotion film, they do need congratulating. The Lancs TV set up alone, let alone pulling off the pre-season tour coverage, is very impressive.

Thumbing through Playfair I've noticed that we are one of only 5 counties playing first-class games at outgrounds, and the only one to play at more than one outground. Those 5 includes Worcester playing at Kidderminster, which seems set to become their primary ground.
I realise that there are less matches these days, but I can remember when pretty much all counties would play at outgrounds, many at multiple outgrounds and the game was better for it.

Heavy rain o/night and raining again at OT....would suit Surrey if the match abandoned as unlikely to score 250 runs in the time that will be available for batting today..
