Am I the only person who finds Livingstone's continual selection at international level somewhat bizarre? He has in 50 over cricket one 50 against Holland.
And one 100 in 50 over albeit against Pakistan, but he his bowling is club standard and more often than not he is out slogging in single figures.....
His performance yesterday was fairly standard.

Yeah, it puzzles me as well Rob. Has he been doing much in T20 cricket? He didn't do much in the hundred did he? Been taking many wickets?

Another lousy performance by livingstone he has one shot slogging on the leg side. Should be no where near the england team.

How was he with the ball? Sounded like NZ won comfortably.

How was he with the ball? Sounded like NZ won comfortably. His bowling skills weren’t required!

Have to agree with these comments. One of the most talented players I ever saw in Lancs seconds but sadly he wasn’t very bright in either a cricketing or all round sense and got caught up in hubris.

International T20 cricket appears to be all about power nowadays, it's coming closer and closer to baseball. Livi's ego seems to be the further I hit it the bigger the cheer which means more to him than the team performance. I wonder how a 'touch' batsman like Fairbrother (probably the finest one day batsman I have seen) would go in today's game?

A player who believes his own hype. A wasted talent. A case of what could have been.

His bowling in the last game was absolute cannon fodder- while the pitches in India turn I cant see him bowling much out there.
And given his slog or out approach with the bat, surely his place must come under scrutiny. Rehan Ahmed only played one T"0 but was far more effective with the ball.

Is he a mate of Buttlers? Is that why he keeps getting picked?

Will McPherson notes in the Telegraph that it's over two years since Livingstone played an innings lasting more than 50 balls in any format of the game.

I'm surprised it's only two years. 17th June 2021 at Durham in the T20 Blast 65 off 54 balls (opening). Didn't check 2022 or 2023 assuming McPherson got his stats right.
