Gloucestershire produce some good bowlers. Shame for us and them that Warwickshire steal their players too.

Think this just shows what a very poor batting side lancs are ,Chilton batting coach ffs. A hell of a lot of recuritment needed this winter,

Days 2 to 5 are on Sky Be lucky if there is a Day 3 . Far too late in the season to be playing cricket. Bet Lancs would have bowled given the choice..

A 10.30 start at this time of year is nonsense. Reminds me of that final years ago when De Freitas ran through Northants in the first hour and the match was effectively over.

Well at least the majority of the Lanc's team are home grown compared to only 3 in the opposition.....

Warwickshire have a class seam attack and Lancs do need a better batting coach but this pitch is completely unsuitable for what is supposed to be a prestige match (though I gather the crowd is sparse to say the least) and, had we bowled first, I doubt the score would be much different. Not blaming the groundsman but if they can't produce a proper pitch they shouldn't be having the match.

I can criticise Jimmy Anderson about some things, such as the bouncer war with India but I would never question his desire to play for Lancashire. That will be ECB . The other two don’t give a monkeys.

“ Absolutely right. A 10.30 start at this time of year is nonsense. Reminds me of that final years ago when De Freitas ran through Northants in the first hour and the match was effectively over.”I doubt if that match was any later than the 8th of September Werneth though I do agree that the toss won many of these finals though not the glorious one in 96 when Essex had the nerve to moan that we had the best of conditions batting first. It is this fourth week of September that is the real problem. It is this fourth week of September that is the real problem. I’ve taken the majority of my holidays in September for years for both cricket and hillwalking when I used to be capable of that. It tends to be very good month for weather except for the fourth week as the ECB have found out for the previous two years.

You wonder if it would have been better, bearing in the mind this is a 5 day game, to reduce the overs per day and so start later and/or finish earlier.
