A terrible shot by Davies that saw him dropped off a sitter, then goes for an impossible single as if we needed quick runs. What a pathetic final innings.

Well, it was very poor judgement by Davies but that's what can happen when you've been in the field for six sessions and your mind isn't on the job in any case.

Teams should carry over either all their points or none. Carrying over all points from a 10 game league into a 4 game league could mean that the tournament is almost over (for some teams anyway) before it starts. This year it wouldn’t have done, but more significant weather intervention in the earlier stage would mean that it easily might. Carrying over no points means that it’s a 4 game league with teams not even playing each other once. Not sure I agree with you. But certainly something needs to change. Of course they could change the structure entirely. Making it a 5 game league with ALL players available (and nothing brought forward) would be good, but not going to happen.Well, if bonus points were done away with, that would solve the problem and it certainly should be a five game league. If extra points are needed to separate teams with equal results then we should look at such things as margins of victory and/or the concept of "winning" or "losing" draw.

Some more info on next year's season courtesy of an interview on TMS.
Proposal is to continue with the current conference system for one more year but a team's position in the table at the end of that competition will decide whether that team ends up in Division 1 or 2 in 2023. So if you're in Division 3 in September 2022 then off to Division 2 you go.
Royal London will continue to be played at the same time as the Hundred. RLO final will be on a Saturday.
County Cricket will start at early season as before but there will be CC games amongst the later stages of the Blast. Decision on these with the Counties.
As for Alex Davies he has been told by the Warks Coach that he will not be keeping wicket in the red ball game. Ian Bell was discussing on why cricketers change clubs and he mentioned Liam Plunkett revitialising his career when he moved counties. He sounded puzzled as to why Alex was moving

With few exceptions, Lancs have looked in this game as if the effort of beating Hampshire has drained all their energy. Given how flat the pitch now is, it's a pity that they haven't tried to make a fight of it but it's understandable as there is nothing to play for. That said, there are serious issues for the coaches to address for next season:
1. Fielding, especially close catching. Poor catching in the first innings of the Notts match effectively cost us the championship and more than one poster on here has commented on our poor fielding in one day games.
2. Batting against the moving ball. We were always going to struggle in this match once we lost the toss but we should at least have managed 180 - 200. Unfortunately, not many of our batsmen seem to know how to play against the new ball on a seaming pitch. Poor footwork and playing with the bat away from the body seem almost endemic faults.
Outstanding fielding used to be a hallmark of our teams so I don't know what has gone wrong. The batting problem, on the other hand, goes back years. Some of it must be to do with the OT wicket but I can't think that it helps to have a batting coach whose own playing days were marred by the same technical faults that we see in the current team.

Teams should carry over either all their points or none. If no Willis Trophy then no reason why they can't all play each other once, no need for any carrying forward then.

These are good points. I'm sure that the Lancs management will spin this as a successful season, runners up in the championship, losing out to Warwickshire by a few points, could have gone all the way without injuries to key players at critical times, etc.
Personally I think our position in the Championship flatters us and this game has highlighted the gulf between us and Warwickshire.
The new Director of Cricket has work to do!

According to the Lancs handbook our biggest championship defeat was by Kent in 1910, an innings and 321 runs, but it isn't in that list!
