Good chance for him to make a name for himself with bat in second innings and maybe something to bowl at.
Suspect Root will be our spearhead in second innings. I remember when he took a lot of stick about his bowling early on in his Test career but always looked decent to me.

Fair play to Tom. Personally I didn't think he was good enough for Lancashire never mind England with the red ball. After seeing your first ball in Test cricket sail out of the park this is some performance from the lad. Useful runs with the bat both knocks too.
