One or two people on other sites saying that with Lyon cutting short his stay it will open the door for Hartley leading the Lancs spin attack later on in the season. If he does progress with the England white ball team (and he made his debut last September) then England have a glut of T20/50 over matches against Australia in September so potentially he would not feature for Lancs in their final 4 CC matches, maybe leaving Lancs with only (a recalled) Morley? A case of too many spinners at the start of the season and not enough spinners at the business end?
The first five championship matches only clash with the IPL. (could Lyon play 3 Hartley 2?)
The next two clash with the Pakistan T20 series (expect Hartley to be there or thereabouts)
The next two clash with the ICC T20 World Cup (maybe Hartley might also be missing dependent upon how the above series goes).
Is it too much to expect Lyon to play the 4 games starting 17, 24 May and 23, 30 June and so miss two games in April and May when Hartley might be available? I'm pretty sure he will miss one of the first three.
The last five championship games clash with the Sri Lanka tour (tests only) and the Australia tour (T20 and ODIs). Hartley could miss all of those, when Lyon is also missing, but probably wont Bashir and Ahmed will have a say in that, even Leach, although Hartley may carry a lot of drinks this summer. Just hope ECB don't keep releasing him for days 2 & 3 & 4 only.
Lancashire may rely on their belief that Wells and Bell are top line spinners or recall Morley for the final run in (dependent upon where they are in the table).

Lets be honest, do we really expect Lancs to be in the CC running at the end of the season?
And if by chance Lancs are in the running, if they are short on players surely they can do a deal to bring someone in? Granted, who will be available thats any good? Well, we'd have to wait and see. I figure if Lancs are in a good place come the end of the season then a lot of their players who would be available all season, bar any injuries of course, must have been playing well it won't just be down to Lyon or Hartley.
Lancs had more than a chance if they had a full season productive of Jennings, Wells, Bohannon, Bruce, Salt/Bell, Balderson, Hurst, Bailey, Williams, Mahmood/Anderson/Aspinwall/Wood, Lyon. Good as anything in the championship, better than most.
