The T20s might give Parky a way back into the first team. It would be terrible if he felt he should move to another county to further his career.

Just realised that there is a train strike tomorrow and Friday, also United playing at home Saturday. My travel plans have become very complicated.

Durham have brought in Ajaz Patel which explains why they didn't seek a longer term loan for Parky.

I made Oldham Exile laugh the other day when I said that if my dad was still alive , he would be saying “ I’ve written it off already”, meaning the season rather than just the prospect of meeting at cricket on Sunday. He wasn’t a pessimist by nature like me but he felt that once the British weather gets in a groove, it takes some shifting . This season has that feeling already.

this is the coldest, wettest spring I can remember in some time. Don't know if you've seen the pictures from Derby but they'll be lucky to get much play across the four days, outfield looks like marshland. Feel sorry for Gloucestershire as they've had trouble getting games on at home because of rain. With Taunton also suffering, the wet weather has made cricket in April even harder than usual this season.
