Whatever happened or didn't happen, it's not a great look for either side.
We've had some bad luck this season but the fact is we've failed to win four games with Anderson in the team, and it's looking highly unlikely we'll win the CC. And yet it seems there's a fresh excuse every game.

Interesting to note even the two sides at the bottom have won games this season

It's true that we haven't had the best of luck and that the OT pitch isn't helpful but I don't think there can be any excuses for the way we have played. Our first innings batting just hasn't been good enough and that has led to the bowling attack being weakened. On field tactics have been questionable at times and some of our fielding has been sloppy to say the least.

Fair points.
The batting has been sub-par, although you can definitely see the nucleus of a good batting side emerging. I'd stick with Baldy at 3 now, move Bohannon to 4 and have the overseas player coming in at 5, when the ball is old(er). With Baldy's bowling you can even afford an extra batter at 6/7 if you want.
The big issue for me is the bowling. Why did we choose not to retain Hassan? Was it a financial issue? If we'd had some genuine pace to clean up the tail we'd probably have beaten Somerset and Notts away, and maybe Essex too. Had we done that, our position would look much more healthy.
We really need to rectify this next year, either by signing a quick bowler from overseas or (perhaps more likely) picking up a domestic player like Carse.

Northants getting a beating off Hampshire currently, Lancs really need to beat them and Kent seeing as we only got 2 draws against Somerset.

We have a bit of a break here, with only the one game in June. And a tricky run until the end of July where our last 5 are Northants twice, Middlesex, Notts and then Kent. At least an easier run if we need to save our skin.
