Had a result this morning, went the ticket office to pay, they asked if I was a member, I said Lancs thinking it wouldn't matter, they said it's free as we have a reciprocal arrangement, I was too stunned to correct them that it doesn't apply when Lancs are playing!
He couldn't have scored less runs thats for sure. |

Suspected we would lose this game comfortably if there is enough play and nothing has happened so far to change my mind. Bailey and Williams will reduce them to 50 for 4 before the double century stand. |

Pleased for Balderson. So often he plays nicely for 30 odd and gets out. Should never be left out for the likes of Blatherwick.

Balderson should be playing every week now unless injured or badly out of form. He can only get better by playing regularly in the 1st team, and he's done enough to be given a run.

In the end then a fairly happy day and a definite bonus after being 150 for7. At least we shouldn't lose this match if Saturday's weather forecast is to be believed.
Hopefully, Balderson can get a few more runs to take him to his maiden century and it will be quite fitting if Bailey is at the other end if he does, as it was Bailey who was largely responsible for GB not achieving three figures last season.

Didn't see any play after lunch as attending grandson's graduation (in Edgbaston, ironically) but 300+ looks well above par on this pitch, which was used for T20 Finals Day and should really suit Bailey and Williams.
