“At a guess doubt whether any new test bowler will ever get close to that” Michael Atherton says that is a certainty.

Possibly played his last test match. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/articles/cll4e9qlm7roWonder whether we will see him play for Lancashire now, was reported to be in the nets at Trent Bridge today. Doing commentary for the Women's T20 v Pakistan, probably the Men's as well till the end of May. Golf Legends Tour in Ireland 19-22 June and playing the next day at Canterbury for Lancs?

Will be retiring this summer official From England yeah. Can he not play a couple of years for us? He's still plenty good enough for county level.

Will be retiring this summer official Anderson is yet to play this season, but had planned to turn out for Lancashire in the County Championship in May or June to gear up for the start of the Test summer on July 10. He has previously stated that he would like to continue playing for Lancashire or even his club Burnley when his Test career concludes. From the Telegraph. If I was the Lancs management I'd ask him to play a couple more years, on any terms he wants. Even if he wants to hand-pick a few games every year. And if he wants to be a coach, I'd give him the job now! Would be a massive boost to our recruitment of young players.

If they are giving him a last hurrah for England at OT, then he might play a couple of matches for us beforehand, but I can't see him going back to the county grind after England.

Opinion seems to be that he will play again for Lancs maybe even this month... He will need some match fitness before his final test. Not as if he has to pace himself for the whole summer now.
