Daily Mail are reporting that Jimmy has an agreement in principle with Mark Chilton to play 2 CC matches in September, but he is yet to make a final decision. The Times reporting this morning that he "could" be available for the last three championship games.

Always a balance re older players. If we are mid table then there is an argument for trying to give younger players some experience. After all we need to bring on the next generation and have plenty of experience, albeit Jimmy is a special case of course. But giving Aspinall some FC experience or even Stanley might be worth more in the longterm.

At the moment Stanley is on a one year contract and I'm pretty certain that it was announced earlier this season he would be concentrating on white ball cricket. He's actually only bowled 8 overs in the Blast and hasn't been seen on a cricket pitch since getting a side strain against Warks on 7th June. The Lancashire website has even stopped giving updates on where he is with his injury (though that's nothing new as far as Lancashire are concerned). I did see him doing gentle running on the outfield at Southport during the CC game earlier this month.

Anderson should be free for the Metro white ball stuff.

Anderson should be free for the Metro white ball stuff. I think Jimmy's last white ball game was the 2014 T20 final defeat to Warwickshire, think that was also Andy Flintoff's last game.

Alan it was later than that, he featured in the Royal London ODC in 2019, playing at least two games, possibly more.

He maybe OK on the bowling front but a 42 year old fielder?
I think this the source of the article..... 33.40 is where he talks about his future....all up in the air...doesn't know whether he will be touring with the England team this winter..

I don't think he looks or acts 42.

I don't think he looks or acts 42. Moeen Ali was saying if one of his '100' bowlers were injured he would choose Anderson the other day.

But seems unlikely this season given his injury.
